Dodecanisos seaways company was founded in 1999 with the initiative of George and John Spanos, super-market owners.

The first step was the purchase of F/B ship for daily connection of Rhodes with the islands of Kos, Kalymnos, Leros, Patmos and the big port of Piraeus. However, the ship that was named ‘Panagia Skiadeni” was sold to DANE company and was renamed as “Diagoras”.

In the meantime, the company, paying more attention to seafaring within the  Dodecanese, built the first high-speed catamaran “Dodecanisos Express” at the Batservice Shipyard in Mantal, Norway, which was run in April 2000.

In July 2005 the company ran the second high speed catamaran ”Dodecanisos Pride”, newly built too. Our company, the administration, the employees, the crews and the cooperative agencies are cordially and proudly announcing that their dream of the “Sea Metro”of Dodecanese, is a reality.

Because the magnificent Dodecanese is our land and our roots, and because it is certainly worth it!
